Hey all!

After quite some slacking on my side, I’ve finally managed to drop the good news: KDevelop 4.4.0 Beta 1 is released!

Our 4.4 branch already contains some more interesting changes for the next beta, stay tuned. Oh and yeah, we’ll try to release 4.4.0 final sometime in September, I hope.

Cheers

It’s at least sleeping very deeply - yes. We are simply lacking the manpower: There is apparently noone interested enough in reviving Quanta. Considering that the framework supplied by KDevplatform paired with the existing work (excellent PHP support, Ruby and Python coming along very nicely, etc. pp.) it is very disappointing to see Quanta semi-dead.

But at least I can confidently say that more and more people start using KDevelop now and find features in there which excell the offerings of Quanta 3 by far (the language support alone!). But especially for designers or novice webdevelopers, KDevelop might still be too complicated or lack certain features… Nothing too serious, but it would need someone who works on it - the usual FOSS project dilemma :(
